Ronald Reagan 1911-2004 ... God Speed.

I came of age during the Reagan years. The assassination attempt took place on my 17th birthday ... March 30, 1981. I was a junior in high school, and was just really becoming aware that there was a world outside of my family, friends, school, etc. And a scary world it was. We had just had our hostages released in Iran. Communists and the threat of nuclear war loomed large for us all. But I had faith in our President ... he looked like my grandfather, and seemed to be a father figure for the nation ... warm, comforting, caring. The first national election that I could vote in, I cast my vote to re-elect him.
This world would be a very different place today were it not for the strength, courage and wisdom of Ronald Reagan.
