Oh ... Really?

I am SO over this!

I swear if I never have to look at Hotjobs.com or Monster.com ever again in my entire life, it will be too freaking soon!

*long, deep, frustrated, despairing sigh*

Looking for a job friggin SUCKS! I would say that more than half the listings are for work at home scams (go AWAY HerbaLife! Die, damn you, DIE! And take your stupid signs with you!) and weird marketing things that pay only commission, but promise vast, untold amounts of wealth. Of the rest, if you don't have a bachelor's degree in something, anything, the offerings are limited to $8 an hour phone drone abuse-me-please customer service, retail or restaurant service.

I've had a couple of nibbles, but it's weird. It's all yes! Yes! We love you! We'll call you! Then ... nothing. Three recruiters said they would have interviews with potential employers "in a few days" ... "by the end of the week" and they had "several spots you would be perfect for" ... and then, nothing. I can't even get a response by email. I am about to get paranoid ... is there some kind of bad information about me floating around out there?

Two more interviews scheduled for today. Both are insurance ... one sounds good, with a branch of a major national carrier. The other is ... I dunno. I'm going to go see what they have to offer. I got a feeling that it isn't a nice office job, but a pound the pavement, door to door, cold calling sales. Yuck! I am also going to a job fair for a call center that is opening soon. I'm not looking for another phone drone job, I want in on the back-end ... computer support, training, whatever. I've paid my dues ... it's time for something better.

My dream job still awaits me though ... I have been told they take their time in getting candidates in for interviews, weeks or even months. They have my resume for three different job they have listed. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed on this ... it would be so awesome.

But now, it's time to put on the "business attire" and my best dazzling smile, and go talk nice about myself. I'm wonderful! You'll love me! I'm perfect for the job! You need me! You want me! You want to pay me lots and lots of money!

Right ...
