... over with. Thank God!
Two weeks ago, my next door neighbors moved out. They were nice people ... a single dad with the cutest four year old boy. But they had the mangiest, nastiest, dirtiest cat I have ever seen. The little boy, Michael, hated the cat. He kept trying to give it away. He'd say, "Here ... take dis kitty. I don' need it no more." And he would thrust it into my hands. Ewww! The poor thing didn't know how to clean its butt and it always had poop on it. Probably had worms too. I would give kitty back and rush to wash my hands.
But kitty moved away along with the nieghbors. Unfortunately, the fleas didn't go with them.
They got lonely, and have sought out the company of MY kitties! Ugh! Ugh! Ugh! They must have come through the common wall between our townhouses because the carpet in the upstairs landing and on the stairs (where the common wall is) is infested with the little motherfuckers!
My cats are miserable. Dakota has scratched himself raw. He has scabs all around his head and neck. Both of them are acting weird too. They refuse to go upstairs, and every now and then, they will jump and run as if something pinched their butt. My son and I both have numerous bites on our legs and arms.
I have put the flea goop on their necks, and I have sprayed them with flea spray. I got some stuff to spray on the carpet too. That seems to have helped a lot. Before, I could stand barefoot in the landing and watch as the fleas gathered on my feet. I stood there for 5 minutes this morning and saw not a single one. But they are still in the house. And I am afraid the battle will continue for a long, long time. I am going to call my landlady Monday and have them spray next door before anyone moves in there.
Now I just pray I get decent neighbors.
To round out my week ...
Faith has diarrhea. It gets caught in her britches fur and I have to wash it off of her. She doesn't enjoy that ... and she lets me know this in no uncertain terms. Pretty soon, I will be needing a blood transfusion.
The kids' computer died. I replaced the power supply last weekend, and I was going to also replace the heatsink and fan. When I tried to pull the heatsink off the CPU, the CPU came with it ... right out of the still locked socket. Anyone have a cheap CPU and motherboard for sale? Preferably Socket A and 168-pin DIMM RAM compatible.
Work is the pits. It's been slow, boring and not very productive, although my sales weren't bad considering we weren't getting any customer calls. Today absolutely blew ... everyone I talked to was rude and hateful. Here's a tip ... if you want to be obnoxious to someone, don't do it with an insurance agent you are getting auto and home quotes from. Think about it ...
The only thing left to do now is drown my sorrows in chocolate. Now where did that kid hide the Halloween candy???
